Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 Whisk

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp water (to thin, as needed)

Instructions

  • Combine ingredients: In a small bowl or jar, whisk together the vinegar, maple syrup, mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Adjust consistency: Add 1–2 tablespoons of water if you prefer a thinner dressing.
  • Taste and adjust: Adjust the seasoning if needed—add more lemon for brightness, maple for sweetness, or mustard for tang.
  • Store or serve: Use immediately or store in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 1 week. Shake well before each use.

Notes

  • You can swap maple syrup with date syrup or blended soaked dates for a different natural sweetness.
  • Use balsamic vinegar for a richer flavor or red wine vinegar for extra tang.
  • Add fresh or dried herbs like oregano, thyme, or basil for variety.
